Further to the announcement dated 18 November 1998, the Board of Directors of YTL Corp announces that, the proposed bonus issue of one (1) new ordinary share for every five (5) existing ordinary shares held on a date to be determined ("Proposed Bonus Issue") will now involve an issue of up to 323,521,479 new ordinary shares of RM0.50 each in YTL Corp as compared to the maximum previously announced of 262,863,092 new ordinary shares of RM0.50 each in YTL Corp. The increase is to cater for the ordinary shares that may be issued arising from the exercise of new Warrants 1999/2009 which was offered for sale vide YTL Corps prospectus dated 6 August 1999.
The Proposed Bonus Issue will now be effected by capitalising up to a sum of RM161,760,739.50 from the Share Premium Account of the Company. Based on the last audited accounts of the Company as at 28 February 1999, the balance of the Share Premium Account was RM742,777,029.
All other terms of the Proposed Bonus Issue remain unchanged from that contained in the announcement dated 18 November 1998.
