Ceased Trading Companies in Malaysia

A Ceased Trading Company is a company which has had its license to operate as a company revoked by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). The company is no longer allowed to carry out any business activities and its name will be removed from the Register of Companies.

There are a number of reasons why a company may have its license revoked, including failing to file annual returns, not paying taxes, or being involved in illegal activities. Once a company has been struck off the register, its directors and shareholders can no longer use the company to conduct business.

If you are a director or shareholder of a Ceased Trading Company, you may be held liable for the debts of the company. This means that you could be personally liable for any money owed to creditors, employees, or the government.

If you are thinking about starting a business in Malaysia, it is important to make sure that you are familiar with the requirements of the Companies Act. This will help you to avoid any problems down the road.
