Co-operation Companies in Malaysia

There are many types of co-operative businesses in Malaysia. The most common are housing co-operatives, agricultural co-operatives and consumer co-operatives.

Housing co-operatives are set up to help members own or rent houses. Agricultural co-operatives help farmers to pool their resources and sell their produce at a better price. Consumer co-operatives help members to get discounts on groceries and other items.

All co-operatives are owned and controlled by their members. Members elect a board of directors to manage the co-operative. Profits are shared among members according to their level of involvement.

Co-operatives help their members to save money, get better prices for their products and services, and have a say in how the business is run.
