Community Companies in Malaysia

A community company is a type of company that is established for the benefit of a particular community. It is a legal entity that is owned and controlled by the community it serves.

Community companies are usually set up to provide goods or services that the community needs but which are not being provided by the private sector. They may also be established to promote economic development or to protect the environment.

Community companies can be either for-profit or not-for-profit. They may be registered as companies limited by guarantee or by shares.

In Malaysia, community companies are regulated by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM).
