Dagang Umum Dorment Companies In Malaysia are those companies which have been incorporated but are not actively trading. The company may have been set up for a future project or venture but for whatever reason, has not yet commenced business operations.

These companies are not required to file annual returns with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and are therefore considered to be ‘dormant’.

The main reasons why companies become dormant are:

The company was set up for a future project or venture which has not yet commenced

The company is in the process of being wound-up or is in receivership

The company has been struck-off the register of companies by the SSM

The company has changed its name or has been merged with another company

If a company is found to be operating without being registered with the SSM, it may be fined and/or the directors may be prosecuted.
