Dormants Companies in Malaysia

Dormant companies are companies that have been incorporated but are not in operation. In Malaysia, dormant companies are required to file annual returns and submit audited financial statements to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). However, they are not required to submit any tax returns.

Dormant companies are often used as holding companies or for other purposes such as property ownership. There are a number of reasons why a company may become dormant, such as:

- The company was incorporated but never started operations
- The company has ceased operations but has not been formally wound up
- The company is in the process of being wound up but has not yet been dissolved
- The company is in the process of being sold or transferred to another party

If a company is dormant, this does not mean that it is no longer a legal entity. The company will still exist and can still be held liable for any debts or obligations it may have.
