Ejen Komisi Am Dormant Companies in Malaysia

Ejen Komisi Amanah Dormant Companies (EKAD) is a Malaysian government agency that was established in 2011. Its primary mandate is to protect the interests of minority shareholders in public listed companies (PLCs) that have been classified as dormant.

EKAD is empowered to intervene in the affairs of PLCs that have been dormant for a period of two years or more. It can appoint directors to the board of the company, and has the authority to call for a shareholders’ meeting.

The ultimate goal of EKAD is to ensure that the rights of minority shareholders are safeguarded, and that they are able to receive a fair return on their investment.
