Engaged In The Companies in Malaysia

Companies in Malaysia are required to be registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), which is the statutory body that regulates and supervises companies in Malaysia. All companies must have a registered address in Malaysia and must appoint at least two directors, who must be natural persons aged 18 years or above and must be ordinarily resident in Malaysia.

The Companies Act 1965 requires that every company must keep proper accounting records and prepare financial statements in accordance with the accounting standards prescribed by the Minister of Finance. These financial statements must give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of its profit or loss for the financial year.

The Companies Commission of Malaysia has the power to investigate the affairs of any company if it has reason to believe that the company is not complying with the Companies Act 1965 or any other written law. The Commission may also investigate the affairs of any company if it is in the public interest to do so.
