As a result of these efforts, Malaysia has become an important hub for the design, manufacture and assembly of aircraft and spacecraft. A number of global aerospace companies have set up operations in Malaysia, including Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce and Sikorsky.

The aerospace industry in Malaysia is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, with the government aiming to increase the value of exports to RM30 billion (US$7.8 billion) by 2025.
