Export And Import Of Crude Palm Oil Companies in Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of crude palm oil (CPO). CPO production in Malaysia has been growing rapidly in recent years, reaching a record high of 19.5 million metric tons in 2014. Malaysia is the second-largest CPO producer after Indonesia, accounting for roughly 25 percent of global production.

CPO exports from Malaysia are an important source of revenue for the country. In 2014, Malaysia exported an estimated 17.4 million metric tons of CPO, generating nearly $20 billion in export revenue. CPO exports make up a significant share of Malaysia’s total export earnings; in 2014, they accounted for roughly 12 percent of the country’s total exports.

The vast majority of Malaysia’s CPO exports are destined for other Asian countries, particularly China, India, and Pakistan. These three countries accounted for a combined total of nearly 14 million metric tons of CPO imports from Malaysia in 2014, or roughly 80 percent of Malaysia’s total CPO exports.

The European Union (EU) is another major destination for Malaysian CPO exports, accounting for roughly 2.5 million metric tons in 2014. Malaysia is the EU’s largest supplier
