Export And Import Of Refined Palm Oils Companies in Malaysia

Malaysia is the world’s second largest producer and exporter of palm oil after Indonesia. Palm oil is a versatile commodity used in food, cosmetics and as a biofuel. In 2018, Malaysia exported 18.8 million tonnes of palm oil and palm oil products, worth MYR 67.8 billion (USD 16.6 billion).

Malaysia’s palm oil exports are mainly shipped to India, China, the European Union (EU), Pakistan and the United States. India is the largest buyer of Malaysian palm oil, accounting for 24% of total exports in 2018. China is the second largest buyer, importing 23% of Malaysia’s palm oil exports.

The EU is a significant market for Malaysian palm oil, importing 18% of total exports in 2018. The EU’s imports of palm oil and palm oil products from Malaysia were worth MYR 12.1 billion (EUR 2.7 billion) in 2018.

Pakistan is the fifth largest market for Malaysian palm oil, importing 5% of total exports in 2018. The United States is the sixth largest market, importing 3% of Malaysian palm oil exports in 2018.
