Export And Import Of Spices And Curry Powder Companies in Malaysia

The Malaysian government has been encouraging the development of the country’s spice and curry powder industries in order to boost exports and create jobs. There are now over 200 spice and curry powder companies in Malaysia, many of which are export-oriented.

The majority of Malaysia’s spice and curry powder exports go to Singapore, India, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the United Kingdom. These exports are worth around RM1 billion (US$240 million) per year.

The main spices and curry powders exported from Malaysia include black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, fennel, fenugreek, ginger, mace, nutmeg, and turmeric.

The Malaysian government offers a number of incentives to encourage companies to export, such as tax exemptions and duty-free import of raw materials. In addition, the government has set up an Export Marketing Fund to help companies with the costs of marketing their products overseas.
