General Companies in Malaysia

There are many different types of companies in Malaysia, but they can broadly be classified into two categories: local companies and foreign companies.

Local companies are companies that are incorporated in Malaysia and have their headquarters here. The majority of local companies are small and medium enterprises (SMEs), but there are also a number of large local companies. Some examples of large local companies in Malaysia include Petronas, Sime Darby and CIMB.

Foreign companies are companies that are incorporated in another country but have operations in Malaysia. Many foreign companies choose to set up operations in Malaysia because of the favourable business environment and the ample opportunities for growth. Some examples of foreign companies in Malaysia include Nestle, HSBC and Samsung.
