Import/export Of Food Companies in Malaysia

Malaysia is a net exporter of food. In 2016, the country exported $19.7 billion worth of food and imported $16.4 billion, for a trade surplus of $3.3 billion.

The top exports of Malaysia are palm oil ($16.7 billion), rubber ($3.63 billion), cocoa beans ($1.01 billion), timber wood ($832 million) and tropical fruits ($795 million), while its top imports are refined petroleum ($5.42 billion), soybeans ($2.17 billion), wheat ($1.85 billion), live animals ($1.47 billion) and corn ($1.34 billion).

Malaysia is the world's second-largest producer of palm oil, and the majority of its palm oil exports go to India, China, the European Union and Pakistan. The country is also a major producer of rubber, cocoa beans and tropical fruits, which are all significant export commodities.
