Investment General Trading Companies in Malaysia

An investment general trading company is a company that is involved in the business of trading securities and other financial instruments. These companies are usually registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and are subject to the regulatory requirements of the SEC.

The main activities of an investment general trading company are to buy and sell securities, to provide brokerage and investment advisory services, and to engage in other investment-related activities. Investment general trading companies in Malaysia are required to comply with the requirements of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SCM). The SCM requires investment general trading companies to have a minimum paid-up capital of RM5 million. Investment general trading companies must also maintain a minimum net worth of RM10 million. These companies are required to submit audited financial statements to the SCM on a quarterly basis.
