Investor Companies in Malaysia

An investment holding company is a company that owns shares in other companies. The main purpose of an investment holding company is to hold investments and manage them on behalf of the shareholders.

There are many investment holding companies in Malaysia. Some of the largest and most well-known investment holding companies in Malaysia are Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Khazanah Nasional Berhad (KNB), and Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

PNB is a Malaysian government-owned investment holding company. It was established in 1971 to manage the government's equity investments in listed companies. As of March 31, 2016, PNB's total assets were RM298 billion (US$79 billion).

KNB is the sovereign wealth fund of the Malaysian government. It was established in 1993 to manage the government's investment portfolio. As of March 31, 2016, KNB's total assets were RM168 billion (US$44 billion).

The EPF is a Malaysian government-sponsored retirement savings fund. It was established in 1951 to provide retirement benefits for private sector employees. As of December 31, 2015, the EPF had RM641 billion (US$172 billion) in assets.
