Light Companies in Malaysia

Electricity in Malaysia is generated, transmitted, and distributed by two government-linked companies, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB). TNB is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia, while SEB is the largest electricity utility in Sarawak.

Malaysia has a total installed electricity generation capacity of 19,423 MW as of 31 December 2015. 99% of the electricity generated in Malaysia comes from thermal power plants, with the remaining 1% coming from hydroelectric power plants.

As of 2015, Malaysia's electricity consumption was 116.5 TWh.

Malaysia's electricity grid is interconnected with that of Singapore's, allowing for the import and export of electricity between the two countries.
