Manufacture Of Crude Palm Oil Companies in Malaysia

Crude palm oil is produced by crushing palm fruits in palm oil mills. Palm fruits are first transferred to the palm oil mills by conveyor belts or trucks. The fruits are then sterilized in large autoclaves before being crushed in screw presses to obtain palm oil.

The palm oil mill effluent (POME) generated from the palm oil mills is rich in organic matter and nutrients, which makes it an ideal substrate for biogas production. Biogas is a renewable energy source that can be used to generate electricity and heat.

In Malaysia, there are more than 400 palm oil mills with a total capacity of over 20 million tonnes of palm oil per year. The palm oil industry is a major contributor to the Malaysian economy, accounting for 2.6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2015.
