Manufacture Of Motor Vehicles Companies in Malaysia

The Malaysian motor vehicle manufacturing industry is a relatively new industry which began in the early 1980s. The industry is currently dominated by three companies: Proton, Perodua and Honda Malaysia.

Proton was established in 1983 and is the largest car manufacturer in Malaysia. Proton cars are exported to over 60 countries worldwide. Perodua was established in 1992 and is the second largest car manufacturer in Malaysia. Perodua cars are also exported to several countries in Asia and Africa. Honda Malaysia began operations in 2001 and is the third largest car manufacturer in Malaysia.

The Malaysian motor vehicle manufacturing industry is expected to grow in the future as demand for Malaysian-made cars increases both domestically and internationally.
