Motor Companies in Malaysia

There are many motor companies in Malaysia, such as Proton, Perodua, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. Most of these companies have assembly plants in Malaysia, which helps to create jobs and spur economic growth. The Malaysian government has also been supportive of the automotive industry, providing incentives and tax breaks to encourage investment.

The automotive industry is a significant contributor to the Malaysian economy, accounting for approximately 10% of the country’s GDP. In 2017, there were over 700,000 vehicles produced in Malaysia, with a majority of them being exported. The top export destinations for Malaysian-made vehicles are Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Malaysian government has been working to attract more foreign investment into the country’s automotive sector. Incentives such as the Malaysian Automotive Policy (MAP) and the National Automotive Policy (NAP) provide tax breaks and other financial assistance to companies that invest in the Malaysian automotive industry.
