Non-operation Companies in Malaysia

There are a number of reasons why a company may choose to remain non-operational in Malaysia. Perhaps the company is not yet ready to begin operations, or it may be waiting for the necessary approvals and licenses from the relevant authorities. In some cases, a company may be non-operational because it is in the process of being wound up or dissolved.

If a company is non-operational, this does not mean that it is not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). All companies registered with SSM are required to file annual returns, even if they are not currently operating. This is to ensure that the company remains in good standing with the authorities and is up-to-date with its filings.

However, a non-operational company may not have any employees and may not be carrying out any business activities. This means that it is not required to pay any taxes in Malaysia. A company may also choose to remain non-operational if it is not generating any income.

If a company is non-operational, this does not necessarily mean that it is inactive. The company may still be involved in some activities, such as holding shareholders’ meetings, maintaining its registered office, and so on.
