A partnership is a business owned and operated by two or more people. Partners share control of the business and are each personally liable for the debts and liabilities of the business.

A limited liability company (LLC) is a business structure that offers its owners limited liability protection. LLC owners are not personally liable for the debts and liabilities of the business.
