Passenger Transport By Inter-urban Railways Companies in Malaysia

In Malaysia, passenger transport by inter-urban railways is provided by a number of companies. The main operator is Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), which operates both passenger and freight services on its network. Other operators include ETS, a subsidiary of KTM, and Express Rail Link (ERL).

KTM's inter-urban passenger services are focused on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, with the main line running from Padang Besar in the north to Gemas in the south. This line is served by a number of different types of trains, including the high-speed ETS trains. ETS services began operating in 2007 and have since been expanded to include more destinations.

ERL operates the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Ekspres and KLIA Transit services, which connect KLIA with the city centre. These services are fast and efficient, and offer a convenient way to travel to and from the airport.

In addition to the main operators, there are a number of smaller companies that provide passenger services on secondary lines. These companies include the Penang Hill Railway, the KTM Komuter Nilai Line, and the Kelana Jaya Line.
