Processing And Preserving Of Meat And Production Of Meat Products Companies in Malaysia

The Malaysian meat industry is divided into three sub-sectors, namely the slaughtering and processing sector, the livestock farming sector and the feedlotting sector. The slaughtering and processing sector is further divided into two sub-sectors, namely the halal and non-halal sub-sectors.

The halal sub-sector is dominated by the three major players, namely, Berjaya Corporation Berhad, QL Resources Berhad and Hainan Haidilao Catering Co., Ltd. These three companies account for about 70% of the total halal meat processing and preserving capacity in Malaysia.

The non-halal sub-sector is dominated by the three major players, namely, Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, JBS USA Holdings, Inc. and Tyson Foods, Inc. These three companies account for about 60% of the total non-halal meat processing and preserving capacity in Malaysia.

The livestock farming sector is dominated by the three major players, namely, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd. and PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. These three companies account for about 70% of the total livestock farming capacity in Malaysia.
