Real Estate Investment Companies in Malaysia

Real estate investment companies (REICs) in Malaysia are regulated by the Securities Commission (SC). REICs are required to have a minimum paid-up capital of RM20 million and must be listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

REICs are allowed to invest in a wide range of real estate assets including office buildings, retail outlets, warehouses, factories, car parks, hotels and resorts. They are also permitted to invest in real estate-related companies and real estate investment trusts (REITs).

REICs are required to distribute at least 90% of their net income to investors as dividends. They are also required to invest a minimum of 30% of their assets in real estate and a maximum of 70% in other investments.

REICs are an attractive investment option for investors seeking to diversify their portfolios and earn regular income. They are also a good way for investors to get exposure to the Malaysian real estate market.
