Religion And Creed Companies in Malaysia

Religion and creed companies in Malaysia are required to comply with the registration requirements under the Companies Act 2016. The registration requirements for companies differ depending on whether the company is a private or public company.

A private company is one which:

- has a maximum of 50 members; and
- its members have given their consent to the registration of the company.

A public company is one which:

- has a minimum of 7 members;
- its members have given their consent to the registration of the company; and
- it is registered with the Securities Commission of Malaysia.

The registration requirements for a company limited by guarantee are the same as for a private company.

A company limited by shares may be either a private or public company.

The registration requirements for a foreign company are the same as for a public company.
