Retailing Of Clothing Companies in Malaysia

The Malaysian retail industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.2% from 2016 to 2021 to reach a value of RM258.4 billion (US$63.4 billion), according to a report by Ken Research.

The country’s retail sector is being driven by a number of factors, including strong economic growth, rising household incomes, and the growing number of shopping malls and retail outlets.

The clothing retail sub-sector is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.1% from 2016 to 2021, reaching a value of RM38.6 billion (US$9.4 billion) by 2021.

The growth of the clothing retail sub-sector is being driven by the growing popularity of branded clothing, the expanding middle class, and the growing number of shopping malls and retail outlets.

Some of the major clothing retailers in Malaysia include Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, and Marks & Spencer.
