Timber Industries Companies in Malaysia

The timber industry in Malaysia is an important contributor to the country’s economy. The industry provides employment for more than 700,000 people and is responsible for the export of RM20 billion worth of timber products each year.

The timber industry is also an important source of revenue for the Malaysian government, with timber companies paying RM1.6 billion in taxes and royalties in 2016.

Sime Darby Berhad is the largest timber company in Malaysia and is also one of the largest companies in the country overall. The company is involved in the plantation, logging, and processing of timber, as well as the manufacture of wood products.

IOI Corporation Berhad is another large Malaysian timber company.
