Trading Of Telecommunication Equipment Companies in Malaysia

The Malaysian telecommunications equipment market is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6% from 2016 to 2021, driven by the increasing demand for 4G and 5G services, according to a report by research firm Frost & Sullivan.

The country's mobile subscriber base is expected to reach 31.8 million by 2021, up from 28.3 million in 2016.

"The Malaysian government's initiatives to promote the adoption of 4G services, such as the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan, will drive the demand for 4G- and 5G-compatible equipment in the country," said Frost & Sullivan ICT research analyst Nadhirah Nor'Azam.

"In addition, the government's plan to roll out 5G services by 2020 will further accelerate the adoption of 5G-ready equipment."

However, the report noted that the growth of the telecommunications equipment market in Malaysia will be restrained by the country's small landmass, which limits the potential for expansion of mobile networks.
