The Board of Directors of EKA wishes to announce that Kilang Bihun Bersatu Sdn Bhd (“KBBSB”), the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary had on 27 September 2017 been served with the Notice of Demand (“Notice”) in relation to the sum due and owing to Chep (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“CMSB”).

According to the letter of demand dated 15 September 2017, KBBSB had incurred the sum of RM60,103.12 (“Outstanding Amount”) worth of invoices issued by CMSB to KBBSB from 30 August 2014 to 26 August 2017.

The Outstanding Amount has to be paid within 7 days from 27 September 2017, failing which CMSB would commence legal proceedings against KBBSB for the recovery of Outstanding Amount together with all interest and costs without further reference to KBBSB.

KBBSB is exposed to the above claims and interests as stated above and the Company would be contacting CMSB to discuss on the above matter.
