Mr. Chiu Yoong Chian Gerald ("Mr. Gerald Chiu") joined Dymon Asia Capital in 2012, and helped establish Dymon Asia Private Equity (DAPE). DAPE is focused on making private equity investments in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in South East Asia, and aims to contribute both capital and expertise to the companies it invests in. DAPEs current funds are Fund I (SGD300 million) and Fund II (USD450 million). The firm has offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and has invested in 17 companies/ exited 4 companies across these geographies

Mr. Gerald Chiu led DAPEs investments in UEMS, Altas Vending and Fong's Engineering. UEMS won the Singapore Venture Capital Associations Exit of the Year in 2017. He is a member of the Funds Investment Committee. 

Mr. Gerald Chiu was previously a Partner at Navis Capital Partners, where he spent six years covering control buyout investments in Southeast Asia, India and Australia, and established the firms Singapore office. Prior to Navis Capital Partners, Mr. Gerald Chiu worked at Temasek Holdings and was principally involved in private equity funds investments. Mr. Gerald Chiu started his career with the Singapore Government after returning from a Singapore Public Service Commission scholarship.

Mr. Gerald Chiu has contributed to the boards and executive committees of several companies (non exhaustive list below) in a wide range of industries and geographies. This breadth is paired with specific skill sets in M&A, implementing management incentive plans, succession planning, strategic planning, financial reporting and corporate governance.
