Contents | Following the announcement dated 10 April, 2009, the Board of Directors of JF TECH wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") has granted JF TECH a further extension of time of six (6) months from 13 April, 2009 until 12 October, 2009 to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement pursuant to the Rule 8.15(1) of the Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities for MESDAQ Market ("MMLR").
The public shareholding spread of JF TECH based on the Record of Depositors as at 31 December, 2008 is as follows:-
Percentage of public shareholding - 37.62%
Number of public shareholders holding not less than 100 shares each - 833
Under Rule 8.15(1) of the MMLR, a listed company must ensure that at least 25% of its total listed shares are in the hands of a minimum of 1,000 public shareholders holding not less than 100 shares each ("Required Public Shareholding Spread"). JF TECH does not comply with the Required Public Shareholding Spread.
In this connection, JF TECH is required to make an immediate announcement and the Company will continue seeking ways to resolve this matter to comply with the Required Public Shareholding Spread. Steps taken or proposed to be taken under the Rectification Plan of the Company as previously announced and still ongoing includes:-
1. Continuously involved in promotional and investor relations activities to increase the Companys publicity and awareness amongst the media, investors and the general public. The Company has mandated a public relations and marketing communications company, AccentEdge Communications, for one (1) year since 2008 whereby they have issued press releases on the Company on 10 December 2008 and 6 April 2009;
2. The Company had conducted monthly Management briefings to the employees of the Company with regard to the prospect of the Company to encourage them to invest in the Company; and
3. Continuously build up awareness of the Company's shares which includes:-
-Meeting with existing research houses, i.e. SJ Securities Sdn. Bhd. and Standard & Poors whom have issued the quarterly report on JF TECH;
-Publication via major newspapers in Malaysia in relation to the planned development of the Company to garner publicity and awareness on the sustainable future of JF TECH; and
-Participated in the CMDF Bursa Research Scheme II.
